Who Is Nancy, Esq.?

Actually, I’m a Kentucky girl. I have also lived in my three favorite places —Chicago, Illinois, Paris France and Stockholm Sweden, which makes me different from your average Kentucky girl. I now hang my hat in my hometown of Louisville, KY, a small community (no matter what census numbers may say to the contrary) of enterprising and creative professionals who enjoy the culture and the beauty of the best Kentucky has to offer.

Professionally, my years of experience in real estate and business law is a unique blend of traditional firm practice (litigation and transactional), business and real estate entrepreneurship and commercial lease management.  My strength and passion is legal research and drafting, including business formation documents, purchase and sale agreements, contracts, real estate agreements, residential and commercial leases, landlord-tenant forms, estate planning and other related documents.

I am relentless in my research, creative in my thinking, talented in the art of written persuasion and a perfectionist in my composition.  I bring to the practice not just a solid foundation in legal analysis and writing, but also a practical perspective in drafting transactional documents that facilitates ways to get around objections to language and  ease of understanding, all leading to positive outcomes.

When asked for my hobbies, I took pause as leisure time is at a minimum with the advent of two darling daughters.  That said, here's me and my passions:
  • giving to my community such that I live bigger.  After all it is only through giving that we gain the perspective and ability to face our own inevitable hardships.
  • always working to stave off disuse of my French (Associates and studied at OISE in Paris) and Swedish (studied at Folks Universitet in Stockholm); Des bons livres à recommander?  or perhaps, Jag är också alltid intresserade av en bra film.
  • known to make only the slightest vague attempts to avoid referring to my days of horse back riding (dressage & eventing, catch rider, exerciser rider, groom, instructor) in the same manner that some refer to high school/college/partying as their glory days;
  • an avid pantry cook, I'm the one you want when the dinner you planned burns and you need to pull the proverbial rabbit from the pot;
  • will travel at the slightest invitation and am driven to take pen to page when my creative writing muse beckons.
